Olesya Petrova graduated from the St Petersburg State Conservatory (class of I.Bogacheva) in 2008. Since 2007, she has been a soloist of the Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St Petersburg State Conservatory. Sinse 2016 she has been a soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, performing on its stage leading roles of the mezzo-soprano repertoire in the operas by Verdi, Mascagni, Dvořák and Tchaikovsky. Olesya Petrova has performed at opera houses in Perm, Novosibirsk, Bangkok, Zürich, Hedeland, Riga, the Metropolitan Opera, the Greek National Opera (Athens) and the Montreal Opera, Arena di Verona, Teatro Real (Madrid), the Grand Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Teatro Verdi in Trieste. In 2011, she represented Russia at the BBC’s “Cardiff Singer of the World” competition in the U.K., where she was one of the finalists. The singer has participated in the gala concert of the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, sang mezzo-soprano in Verdi’s Requiem in Sydney and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

Olesya Petrova cooperates with such conductors as V.Gergiev, V.Fedoseev, M.Jansons, L.Krämer, and F.Mastrangelo. The singer’s concert repertoire includes cantatas and oratorios by Bach, Pergolesi, Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi, Berlioz, Wagner, Mahler and Prokofiev. Olesya Petrova is a laureate of international competitions.
