He grew up in a musical family. His father — Robert Bushkov — played in E. Svetlanov’s orchestra for over 20 years; later he was an artist and director of the Moscow Virtuosi orchestra, director of the P.I. Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra and the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra under P. Kogan’s leadership. Since 2002 — director of the Novaya Rossiya orchestra. As a violinist, Evgeny studied at the Central Music School and Moscow Conservatory with masters such as L. Kogan, V. Tretyakov, and A. Vinnitsky. He achieved victories in competitions such as the G. Wieniawski Competition in Poznań (1st prize), Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels (3rd prize), P.I. Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (2nd prize), and G. Shering Competition in Monte Carlo (1st prize).
After he ceased to perform as a violinist, he turned to conducting art. From 2002 to 2009 he was a conductor of the Novaya Rossiya orchestra. Since 2009 — he has been a chief conductor of the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus.
