Marina Prudenskaya

Biography
Marina Prudenskaya was born in St Petersburg (then Leningrad). Graduated from the St Petersburg State Conservatoire, class of Professor Yevgenia Gorokhovskaya. On several occasions she has been a prize-winner at prestigious international competitions, among them Germany’s ARD TV Competition (2003). Has worked at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre and since 2000 she has been a soloist with the Staatstheater Nürnberg, where she has formed a broad repertoire. At present the singer generally specialises in roles in operas by Wagner and Verdi.
Marina Prudenskaya has performed under such acclaimed conductors as Hartmut Henken, James Conlon, Vladimir and Dmitri Jurowski, Lothar Zagrosek, Andrea Marcon, Alberto Zedda, Manfred Honeck, Stefan Soltesz, Daniel Harding and Mariss Jansons. She has collaborated with stage directors including Martin Kušej, Calixto Bieito, Carlus Padrissa, Stefan Herheim, John Dew, Guy Cassiers, David Pountney, Jossi Wieler and Sergio Morabito.
