Biography

Antonio Di Dedda was born on the 12th June 1992 in Milan, Italy. He began his piano lessons at the age of six with Jarmila Klatovskà and graduated by the age of 16 “summa cum laude” at the conservatory „Umberto Giordano“ in Foggia, where he studied in the class of Rosella di Chio. He continued his studies at first with Gennaro Pesce and Claudio Trovajoli, and then with Franco Scala and Stefano Fiuzzi at the Piano Academy of Imola.

He participated in several masterclasses with Petras Geniušas, Andrea Lucchesini, Elissò Virsaladze, Jerome Rose, Sergio Perticaroli, Alexander Lonquich and Graham Scott.

He is a first-prize-winner of numerous competitions.

At the age of 10 he played the Rondò K382 by W. A. Mozart for piano and orchestra.

As a soloist he performs in various concert halls in Italy including Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Comunale in Treviso, Auditorium Pollini in Padova, Teatro Vittoria in Turin, Ateneo Veneto in Venice, Festival MITO in Milan, Trieste, Rovigo, Verona, Bologna, Roma, Napoli, Palermo, and also presents himself abroad: in Spain (Saragozza); Lithuania (Kaunas), France (Paris), Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen), Great Britain (London), Russia (Kaliningrad).

He has collaborated with the Orchestra of the conservatory of Foggia „U. Giordano“, the orchestra of Padova and of Veneto, and also with the orchestra „Teatro La Fenice“ in Venice with its director Omer Meir Wellber, with whom he has played the concert op. 54 by R. Schumann. In different occasions he was a guest at „Rai Uno“ and has made recordings for the „Radio Vaticana“.

In addition to his career as a pianist, he frequently operates as an organist as well.

His studies of organ he began with Luca Scandali at the conservatory „U. Giordano“ in Foggia, where he graduated in organ and organ composition “summa cum laude” with Francesco Di Lernia. At the age of 11 he participated in the IV international organ competition „M. Galanti“ for organists under the age of 39. There he won a special prize and an invitation to participate as a guest of honor at the following edition of the competition. With 14 years he was nominated the principal organist at the cathedral basilica of Troia (FG). He is the winner of the XIII International Organ Competition in Viterbo 2008 where he also won the improvisation-prize, and is the first-prize winner of the 1st National Organ Competition in Naples in 2011.

In 2015 he acquired the Master of Music at the conservatory of Hamburg „Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg“ in piano with Evgeni Koroliov, as well as in organ with Pieter Van Dijk, both with first class honors. Currently he is continuing his piano studies with Elisso Virsaladze at the School of Music in Fiesole (Florence) and as of January 2016 he is a docent of piano at the conservatory „U. Giordano“ in Rodi Garganico (Italy).
