Biography

He began learning to play the violin under the guidance of his father, Imre Lakatos, and became the youngest violin student at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. He graduated from the Academy in the class of Dejan Mihajlovic and continued to improve at the University of the Arts in Zurich under the guidance of Julian Rachlin. He received international recognition after winning the Pablo Sarasate Violin Competition in Spain. He has performed with many famous orchestras and conductors. Currently, he is a professor of violin at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. He also directs the Chamber Orchestra of his name and is the first violin of the Rubicon Quartet. He plays a 1709 Antonio Stradivarius violin.
