Biography
Alexandre Pirozhenko was born in 1979 in Leningrad. He graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where he also completed a post-graduate study (class of Alexander Sandler). Has appeared at the Lesser and Rachmaninoff Halls of the Moscow Conservatoire, the Kiev Philharmonic, the Kiev Conservatory, the Salle Cortot and the UNESCO Hall in Paris, the Kölner Philharmonie, the Kaufman Hall at the Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Palais des Nations in Geneva and the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
Has appeared on several occasions as a prize-winner at international competitions. Has won first prizes at the International Ettore Pozzoli Competition in Italy, the Young Concert Artist competition in New York and competitions in Ibiza and Newport.
Appears as a soloist with various orchestras including the St Petersburg Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Orchestra, the St Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the St Petersburg State Cappella Symphony Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Ukraine, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Orquestra Nacional do Porto and other orchestras in Germany, Latvia, Italy, Romania, Poland, France and the USA.
In 2015 the pianist released his disc conSequentia featuring a cycle of études by Nikolai Kapustin.
