The winner of All-Russian competition Alexey Arkhipovsky was born in Tuapse (Krasnodar region) in 1967. He graduated from the Gnesin Musical college in Department of folk instruments in the class of balalaika. Since 1989 he had been working as a soloist for the Smolensk Russian Folk Orchestra conducted by V. Dubrovsky. In 1998 he was invited to the State Academy Russian Folk Ensemble “Russia”.

In 2002-2003 he started cooperating with SNC (Stas Namin Centre). He has actively touring in Russia and abroad. He participated on festivals of Russian culture in USA, China, The Republic of Korea, Germany, France, Spain and Bulgaria, on different jazz festivals. He is the member of the movement “Ethnosphere” and festival “Mamakabo”.
