Biography

Mischa Maisky - the only cellist who studied and Mstislav Rostropovich and Gregor Piatigorsky. He was born in Latvia, studied in Russia. After the departure of cellist in Israel was recognized in many musical centers of the world - London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, New York and Tokyo.
May, for the past 25 years - the actor of Deutsche Grammophon, under this label, he recorded about 30 CDs. One of the highlights of his career was a concert tour, committed cellist in 2000, in which he traveled the world and has given more than a hundred concerts from the works of Bach.
Mischa Maisky, expressing his deep admiration for this great German composer, repeatedly recorded all his solo suites. His recordings have been enthusiastically accepted by the world music community and brought him prestigious awards - Tokyo Record Academy Prize, three times - Echo Deutscher Schallplattenpreis, Paris Grand Prix du Disque and Diapason d'Or of the Year - the award as prestigious as the Grammys.
Mischa Maisky - a world-class musician, so he is a frequent guest on many of the most important international festivals. He has collaborated with many conductors, including Leonard Bernstein, Carlo Maria Giulini, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniel Barenboim, James Levine, Charles Dutoit, Mariss Jansons, Valery Gergiev and Gustavo Dyudamel, and such soloists as Martha Argerich, Radu Lupu, Nelson Freire, Evgeny Kissin, Lang Lang, Peter Serkin, Gidon Kremer, Yuri Bashmet, Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerov, Joshua Bell, Julian Rachlin and Janine Jansen.
