Biography
Fabio Mastrangelo could be called “the most famous Italian in Russian music circles today.” He is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the St&bnsp;Petersburg Camerata orchestra, Principal Conductor of the Symphonica ARTica orchestra of the Yakutia (Sakha) Philharmonic, Artistic Director of the Novosibirsk Camerata, Principal Guest Conductor of the Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra and a regular guest conductor at the Mariinsky Theatre and oth r th atres throughout Russia. Since 2006 he has been Artistic Consultant to th Teatro Petruzzelli in his native city of Bari in Italy.
Fabio Mastrangelo tours frequently. In the summer of 2009 he conducted Aida at the opening of the Taormina Arte festival (Sicily). In 2010 he made his first appearance at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago. In August 2011 he was invited to the world’s most prestigious summer opera festival at the Arena di Verona where he conducted a new production of the opera Romeo et Juliette. In 2012 he returned to Verona where he repeated his success with the same opera (four performances). Collaborates with Naxos, with which he has recorded all of Elisabetta Brusa’s symphony music.
