She made her debut in 2010 with her regular partner, guitarist Alexander Mikhailovsky. In 2012, she became a laureate of the «Autumn Marathon» competition, and was invited to participate in the St. Petersburg Jazz Philharmonic Hall, «Melodies of Hollywood and Broadway» and «Lady Jazz» projects. Since then, she has been a regular performer on this prestigious jazz stage.

Julia Mikhailovskaya, as a rule, performs accompanied by her instrumental ensemble under the direction of A.Mikhailovsky. Being one of the most sought-after vocalists of St. Petersburg jazz, she often works with such musicians as David Goloshchekin, Konstantin Khazanovich, Fedor Kuvaytsev, Yuri Bogatyrev, Grigory Voskoboinik and many others.

In 2013, she received the 1st prize from Anatoly Kroll for winning the international Gnesin-jazz competition. In 2015, together with V.B.Feiertag she prepared a program dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Billie Holiday. She participated in the project «Stars of St. Petersburg Jazz», toured in Penza, Riga, Moscow, and in 2017, also with V.B.Feiertag, she prepared a program dedicated to the 100th anniversary of George Gershwin.

In addition to English jazz, Julia Mikhailovskaya performs Brazilian bossa nova and samba in Portuguese. A special place in the singer’s repertoire is given to the Soviet song, the traditions of
which she loves and honors very much.
