Biography

Described by reviewers as a "dazzling artist" with an "exceptional musical maturity" (Pinchas Zuckerman) the German violinist Christoph Seybold has been garnering international praise for his poetic passion and technical mastery of the violin as well as for his charismatic personality and magnetic stage presence. His teachers included Jens Ellerman as well as Adam Kostecki and Zakhar Bron. Aditional musical input he got from luminaries such as Pinchas Zuckerman, Ida Haendl, Georgy Pauk, Shlomo Mintz and Victor Danchenko. His Debut Recording together with pianist Milana Chernyavska features works by Richard Strauss, Beethoven, Bach, Waxman and Strauss and was received with enthusiastic acclaim by the international press. His extensive repertoire encompasses 30 concertos and reaches from Bach to Shedrin who s violin Concerto he took up in his repertoire for the 2015 season. In addition to his brilliantly nuanced classical repertoire Christoph Seybold takes a lot of joy in the proccess of writing improvisations and arrangements for the violin by such diverse composers as Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Tschaikovsky, Dvorak, R. Strauss, Poulenc and Debussy. Recent performances have taken him to major concert venues such as the Konzerthaus Berlin, Leiszhalle Hamburg, Liederhalle Stuttgart, Meistersingerhalle in Nürnberg, Herkulessaal and Prinzregententheater Munich, Glocke Bremen and the Kurhaus Wiesbaden as well as the Opera City Tokyo, CBC Toronto and venues in Lisbon, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Buenos Aires and Tel Aviv among others. He performs regularly with orchestras such as the Prague Radio Philharmonic, Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra, Klassische Philharmonie Bonn, Czech Radio Symphony, the Philharmonie der Nationen, Württemberg Chamber Orchestra, the Bratislava Radio Orchestra, the Lisbon Chamber Orchestra, Slovak Sinfonietta, Hannover Chamber Orchestra, the Heilbronn Symphony Orchestra, Capella Istropolitana, Norddeutsche Philharmonie Herford and is a regular guest on Radio and TV.In addition to his regular concert schedule he was named Artist in Residence of the Ammersee Music Festival near Munich, where he will be playing chamber music with members of the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic and Bayrischer Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra.
