Alexander Marinesku was born in Chișinău in 1988. In 2007–2012 he studied at the Moscow Conservatory (class of Olga Ivusheikova), since 2009 at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe (class of Renate Greiss-Armin) and since 2012 at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart (class of Davide Formisano). In 2013 he trained with the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra. Prize-winner at the Musical Youth of the Planet competition in Moscow (1 prize, 2007), the International Theobald Böhm Flute Competition in Munich (Special Prize, 2011), the Kammermusikwettbewerb Karlsruhe (2 prize, 2011) and the International Gazzelloni Flute Competition (2 prize, 2013 and 1 prize, 2017).
