Biography

Nikolai Geršak was born in 1970. He studied organ and church music in Music Academies in Rottenburg and Lübeck. His teachers were famous German professors Wolfram Rehfeldt and Jürgen Essl.

From 1995 – 1998 he was main organist at the St. Martin-church in Langenargen (Lake of Constance), and then since 2000 he is the principal organist at the St. Nikolaus-church in Friedrichshafen (Lake of Constance) with its famous Woehl-organ from 1989.

There he also conducts several choirs and plays church services and organ concerts.

He also teaches organ in the region of Friedrichshafen. He often plays in various Jazz-formations as pianist and organist on his Hammond organ B3.

In 2004 he was finalist at the famous competition for improvisation in Haarlem/NL.

As organist he regularly plays concerts in Germany and in many other European countries.
