Biography

Sébastien Guèze, tenor (France) studied voice in the south of France and at the same time, studying for his Masters degree in International Business. Later on, he decides to devote itself exclusively to music and began his studies at the National Conservatory of Paris.

Despite his relative youth, Sébastien Guèze, has already had tremendous success singing at internationally renowned venues such as La Fenice di Venezia, La Monnaie de Bruxelles, Amsterdam Concertgebow, Schwetzingen Festival, Festival di Spoleto, Santa Cecilia Roma, Koeln Opera, Warsaw Wielki Theater, Opera of Athens, Les Chorégies d'Orange, Paris Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Salle Pleyel, Helsinki National Opera, Tokio Oji Hall, Valencia Palao de Les Arts, Harare International Festival of the Arts (Zimbabwe), and Miami Florida Grand Opera to name but a few.

Stage directed by Graham Vick, Garnett Bruce, Willy Decker, Mariusz Trelinski, Andreas Homoki, Georges Lavaudant, Marco Bellocchio and conducted by Placido Domingo, Zubin Metha, Carlo Rizzi, Alain Altinoglu, Johanes Debus, Sébastien Guèze sang titles roles in performances of Faust, La Boheme, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Romeo and Juliet or in the forgotten repertory like Andromaque (Grétry, CD/Glossa), Le Roi d'Ys (Lalo, DVD/Dynamic), Salammbo (Reyer), Djamileh (Bizet), Lodoïska (Cherubini) or Mireille (Gounod), sharing the stage with Placido Domingo, Elena Kelissidi, Roberto Alagna, Kate Aldrich, Aleksandra Kurzak, Ruggero Raimondi, Nino Machaidze and others.

He won prizes in different international contest, such as First Prize European singing competition in Arles (France), 2004; Silver Voice, gold Voice tournament Metz, 2003, upon completion of his studies at the National Conservatory of Paris, where he finished in first place with the "Jury Congratulations". Crowned "Revelation Opera singer" by the French Association of Artists (ADAMI), and named at the French award "Victors in Classical Music 2009" in the "Revelation Artist of the Year" category, Mr. Gueze was awarded Prize of the Public and Second prize in Placido Domingo's renowned voice competition "Operalia" (2006) which launched Gueze's career to the international level.
