Biography

Zhang Xinyue, was born in a musician family in Shanghai, started learning piano at the age of 4 and harp at the age of 7 with Professor Jason Chang from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.   She attended the attached primary school and middle school of Shanghai Conservatory of Music and was admitted to Shanghai Conservatory of Music majoring in Harp performance. During the school period, she won many awards in major international competitions and held many individual solo concerts.

2014, she held her first solo concert; in October of the same year, she won the Excellent Music Award at the 8th French Lily Laskine International Harp Competition.

June 2016, she participated in the French Première Rencontres Internationales de la Harpe en Île-de-France International Harp Competition, won the first place in the C2 group and the first place in the N4 group.

April 2017, she was admitted to the first China Youth Symphony Orchestra (NYO-CHINA) as the principal harpist.   In July of the same year, she made her debut on the same stage with the world-renowned piano soloist Yujia Wang at the Carnegie Hall. After that, she toured in Beijing, Shanghai, and Suzhou in China.

March 2018, she won the first prize in the youth group of the 4th Korea International Harp Competition (Korea International Harp Competition, and a full scholarship to the Harp Master of the Swiss International Harp Summer Camp; in the same year In July, she participated in the Saluzzo International Harp Summer Camp in Italy.

July 2019, she was invited to perform as a guest performer at the "Star of tomorrow" concert of the 11th American International Harp Competition; in the same year, she went to Switzerland to participate in the International Harp Summer Camp Harp Master.

July 2021, she won the second prize in the harp professional group of the OPUS ARTIS PARIS Paris Art Association Music Competition (the first prize is vacant).

March 2022, she won the fourth place, final award, and best performance of a commissioned Israeli work in the 21st Israel International Harp Competition prize.

November 2022, she won the first prize in the professional group of the 7th Hong Kong International Harp Competition; also in November 2022, she won the first prize and final award in the highest group of the 19th Italian PREMIO CITTA' DI PADOVA Music Competition.

December 2022, she won the British Birmingham International Music Competition Harp Advanced 2 First Prize.

September 2023, In 2023, she entered the second round of ARD Munich International Music Competition as the only Chinese contestant, also in October 2023, she won the first prize in the Professional Harp Duet group of the 8th Hong Kong International Harp Competition.

She was attended Masterclass with professors and orchestra principals such as Nancy Allen, Jana Bouskova, Anna Makarova, Alexander Boldachev, Emmanuel Ceysson, Isabelle Moretti, Sivan Magen etc., and learned a great deal and received highest compliments from all of them.
