Anatoly Rybalko
Conductor
Biography
Born in 1974 in Leningrad, Anatoly Rybalko studied choir conducting at the Rimsky-Korsakov Musical College, afterwards he graduated from the St.Petersburg State Conservatory as choir conductor (under prof.Ye.Kudryavtseva) and opera and symphony conductor (under prof.R.Martynov).
Prize winner of the 1st All-Russian Choir Conductors Competition (Salavat, 1995).
Since 1996 Anatoly has been teaching at the Rimsky-Korsakov College (choir conducting).
He has been working as conductor in Zazerkalye Musical Theatre since 2002. His repertoire includes all the performances of the theatre. He carried out the staging of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Mozart’s Schauspiel Direktor.
Anatoly has been collaborating with different ensembles: St.Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, St.Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, St.Petersburg State Academic orchestra, State Hermitage Orchestra, State Academic Cappella Symphony Orchestra. Currently Anatoly Rybalko is Guest Conductor of the State Karelia Philharmonic orchestra (Petrozavodsk).
Since 2006 Anatoly has been performing at the Grand Hall of the St.Petersburg Shostakovich Academic Philharmonia taking part in Season Ticket concerts.
In 2007/2008 he worked at the Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St.Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory. Under his baton were carried out two premieres: resumption of the Giselle ballet (September 2007, Choreographer – D.Avdysh) and Choreographic Miniatures (January 2008, Choreographer –D.Salimbayev).
In 2008, he was invited to the Mikhailovsky Theatre as Guest Conductor, where he carried out the staging of Adam’s Le corsaire (March 2009, Choreographer – F.Ruzimatov). In 2008 as assistant conductor he took part in Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet production (Musical Director – K.Durgaryan, Choreographer – O.Vinogradov) and Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci (Musical Director – Daniele Rustioni, Stage Director – L.Cavani).
Anatoly toured with the theatre through Japan twice (2010, 2012), conducting quite a number of ballet performances and symphonic concerts.
In 2009, Anatoly Rybalko recorded the soundtrack to The Last Station - biographical drama film directed by Michael Hoffman, music by S.Yevtushenko (Sony Pictures Classics).
In December 2011, Anatoly held a post of Conductor of the St.Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra.
The same year he started teaching in the Faculty of Opera and Symphony Conducting at the Rimsky-Korsakov St.Petersburg State Conservatory.
