Sergei Romanov was born in Leningrad. He graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 2000 (class of N.N. Alexeyev).
Soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers from 1999.
Soloist with the Mariinsky Opera Company since 2008.
Sergei Romanov frequently gives recitals. He has toured with the Mariinsky Opera Company to towns and cities throughout Russia and to Finland, Spain, the UK, Sweden and Japan.
